Meet Our Speaker
Fr. Anthony is the Former Secretary of the Diocesan Commission for Ecology (DCE) under the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman. As the Assistant Parish Priest of St. John the Baptist Church, Cana–Benaulim, he guided the parish youth and community in successfully organising the second edition of the Season of Creation celebrations.
Specially deputed by the Archdiocese of Goa, he received advanced training in Organic Farming Practices and Ecology Management in Japan. His passion for environmental stewardship and sustainable living has inspired numerous ecological initiatives across the diocese.
He also had the privilege of working closely with Late Dr. Fr. Bolmax Pereira, whose vision and dedication to ecological ministry continue to inspire the Church’s mission of caring for our common home.
ABOUT THE EVENT
Turning Awareness into Responsible Action
As part of the Franciscan Green Homes Project, a Composting Awareness Programme was conducted for approximately 200 students of St. Mary’s School. The programme encouraged young minds to understand the importance of responsible waste management and the value of transforming biodegradable waste into a useful resource.
A separate awareness session was also conducted for members of the Small Christian Communities (SCCs), extending the initiative from the school into parish homes and neighbourhoods.
Through these sessions, participants gained a better understanding of composting, responsible waste segregation and the positive impact that simple practices can have on our environment.
