Peace in the Spirit of St. Francis
Peace was not simply an ideal for St. Francis of Assisi — it was the very heartbeat of his mission. His encounter with the living Christ transformed him from a young soldier dreaming of glory into a tireless messenger of reconciliation, humility, forgiveness and fraternity. Wherever he walked, he carried a greeting: “The Lord give you peace.”
The 8th Centenary Year invites each of us to become instruments of peace in our own time — building stronger families, healing wounded communities, choosing dialogue over division, and responding to every person with the compassion and reverence that Francis showed to all of creation.
