What is Faith?
Faith was the foundation of St. Francis of Assisi’s extraordinary journey. His encounter with Christ transformed him from a young man seeking worldly success into a humble servant who embraced a life of prayer, simplicity, and joyful witness. Trusting completely in God’s providence, he chose to live the Gospel not only through words but through every action of his life.
As we celebrate the 8th Centenary of the Transitus of St. Francis (1226–2026), the theme of Faith invites us to rediscover this same spirit of trust and discipleship. It calls us to deepen our relationship with God, renew our commitment to prayer, and allow the Gospel to shape the way we live, serve, and care for one another.
Faith, in the Franciscan tradition, is not merely a belief held in the heart—it is a way of life expressed through humility, compassion, gratitude, and hope. Inspired by St. Francis, we are encouraged to become living witnesses of Christ’s love in our families, communities, workplaces, and the world around us.
This Centenary Year is an invitation to begin anew—to strengthen our faith, embrace God’s call with courage, and continue the mission of building a world rooted in peace, fraternity, and love.
